Here are six ideas for Christmas presents – some are
obvious, some less so:
1. Mycoverpics - will take
any pic you have and create a magazine cover for your intended recipient. Is
there a ‘hero’ moment in their past? Find it, Mycoverpics it, and frame it.
2. Photoballmarker.com
will put a pic on a ball marker or pitch repairer or countless other things. I’m
guessing this is more for company logos, but it might be worth a look for the
golfer who has almost everything.
3. Golf Vouchers.
Always popular, so why not send someone off to a dream golf destination:
Ballyliffin,
Adare,
Druid’s Glen are just three excellent examples. There are countless
others. They don’t have to be that expensive either: Ballyliffin’s Winter rates
are €40.
And remember,
most clubs give automatic GUI discounts.
4. Golf Grip Raincoat is novel and is attuned perfectly to our Irish weather. Some more details here.
5. Books: three I enjoyed this year were:
- The Longest Shot by Neil Sagebiel,
- Life as a Way of Golf by Ivan Morris and
- Golf on the Rocks by Gary Sutherland.
- The Longest Shot by Neil Sagebiel,
- Life as a Way of Golf by Ivan Morris and
- Golf on the Rocks by Gary Sutherland.
Three very different books – one about the greatest golfing
upset, one about the quest for success and the battles (and lessons) it involves, and one
about a man’s Scottish island golfing odyssey.
6. Clothing: go for something a bit different: try Parallel Clothing or
something completely different (even Poulter would blush): Royal and Awesome

Or if you’re looking for something dumb – and there are
plenty of options here – take a look at this Golf Digest Compilation.
