A second book. Is that like a second album? The one
bands struggle over to get right, to avoid losing credibility, to cement their
reputation?
Fortunately 'Hooked' and 'Driving The Green'
are very different animals. There was no struggle... not unless you count
numerous rounds of golf at 6am a struggle... which it was, on occasion.
No, Driving The Green is the story behind Hooked.
Forget the golf courses and the rating system; forget the par, the favourite
holes and the course length. Think camper van; think driving almost 7,000
miles, the people met along the way, the scenery, the highs, the lows, the
food, the drink... the leaks, the breakdowns, the police, the Born Again
Christians (yes, plural) and Yoda's mum.
Fourteen months on the road produced many entertaining
encounters and, when they're Irish encounters, anything can happen. This is a
light-hearted look at the journey and the joys of being Irish.
The advance copies of Driving The Green arrived three
weeks ago. Bright yellow cover, amusing graphics. Not something you'd miss,
even at night... a bit like Yoda's mum: Donegal, driving the camper van in the
dark... woman in the middle of the road. Trust me, she's bloody lucky the force
was with her.
If you'd like to buy a copy, check your local bookstore.
If the book isn't there then that probably means it's a bad bookstore, because I have been reliably informed the book is available in 'all good bookstores'.
Either that or the books just haven't arrived yet.
Or order it directly from Collins Press, my publisher:

Best of luck with the new venture Kevin. Look forward to reading it
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI have got my hands on a signed copy thanks to a competition on here. Kevin has told me that it's now worthless as he has signed it. I beg to differ Kevin, it has enhanced it. This is my pool side read in June. I have been tempted on a few occasions to open it and have a sneak peek but restrained myself. Looking forward to reading about Yoda's mum.
