Macreddin Golf Club Ablaze With Gorse

Approach to 12
Are words even necessary? Here are some photos taken last week of the Paul McGinley designed Macreddin outside Aughrim in Co. Wicklow. A beautiful course, in superb condition, and a green fee of just 20-40 euro. More photos below...

On Sunday 18th May, Macreddin is holding its Junior (4-9) & Intermediate (10-18) Scratch Cups. Booking available online or by calling 0402 36999. If these photos don’t inspire you to get out and play this excellent course, then reconsider golf! Green fee is a snip at €25... and buggies are allowed.

General Course Management Tip: Avoid the gorse!

of a drop it is from the tee box. It's a gorgeous shot over the river.

Come and play some great golf in Ireland.

  1. Hello,

I'm not a huge fan of hilly courses, but I'll let that go for Macreddin as it's such an enjoyable course. It has a few more so called signature holes than most other courses. I have played it about half a dozen times and will definitely be back. I do like when a course throws up a few short par 4's, risk and reward holes are a great addition to any course. I also like when there is a quirky designed hole, and here you have the par 3 4th. What a great hole. After all it's only a half hours drive from home. Although it's a great track I will always have a buggy under me for this track.

    Darren
