Mount Juliet's terrific par three 14th. |
Top Golfer is up and raring to go for the
2015 Irish golfing season. Bigger and better than last year – just as it was the year before
– the schedule now boasts 38 events across the country.
There’s not much point reading on if your
handicap is higher than 9 or 10, because these events are for Junior and Senior
Scratch Cup golfers… and are very competitive environments (if you want them to
be).
You can play one; you can play them all.
There’s an Order of Merit for those with a seriously competitive edge, and
winners all qualify for the play-offs and the Championship final. Believe me,
there are amateur golfers out there who treat this as the Holy Grail.
Cork's 4th green with its dramatic new bunkering. |
With play-offs at Mount Wolseley and the Tour Championship at Mount Juliet, it's well worth getting involved.
There’s also the added benefit of very
reasonable entry fees:Green to tee on Grange's par three 11th. (Mind the valley between tee and green.) |

You’ll find the full schedule here (http://www.topgolfer.ie/tour) with the
opening events (Fota Island and Portmarnock Links) already open for booking.

If you’re already signed up, good luck,
wherever you’re playing. If you haven’t, get busy because the events book up
fast and the goodie bag is always worth the trip. I’ll see you in New Forest…
€20… that’s a no-brainer.
