Golf Open Weeks Ireland: Batch 6

As the Bank Holiday kicks off and August approaches, here are eight more Irish Open Weeks to keep you golfing in the coming days and weeks.

1. Co Sligo Golf Club (July 31 - August 9)
Entry Fees €30 - €35
I don't need to say much about this beautiful links course. It has stunning variety when it comes to holes, and even more stunning views. One of the best in Ireland and for thirty odd quid, it is worth the trip from anywhere.

2. Malahide Golf Club (August 1 - 7)
Entry Fees €15
A suburban parkland in north Dublin, Malahide Golf Club offers plenty of sea views, and plenty of subtle doglegs.

3. Galway Bay Golf Resort (August 1 - 8)
Entry Fees €30

Green to tee... to Galway on the par three 13th.

4. Westport Golf Club (August 1 - 9)
Entry Fees €25
A stunning setting and a very strong set of holes, starting at the 7th. Two of the par threes promise glorious tee shots - one straight at Croagh Patrick - and the 15th is a magnificent par five: get your tee shot over the water and be proud!

5. Knockanally Golf Club (August 3 - 9)
Entry Fees €15
Set in Co. Kildare, this is a parkland that drops from a remarkable clubhouse to more level holes, laced with water and flowing between trees. The course is in excellent condition and the 18th hole rises gloriously to that 19th century Palladian clubhouse.

6. Bangor Golf Club (August 9 - 16)
Entry Fees Stg £15
A James Braid designed course, and a sweet parkland few down south know much about (even though Michael Bannon was the Head Pro, who has coached Rory McIlroy from his earliest years).

7. Cork Golf Club (August 11 - 12)
Entry fee €35
OK, so not exactly an open week, but you don't get many opportunities to play this brilliant venerable golf course for €35.
