The publication of Destination Golf Ireland fills a rather large hole as there is no other publication which concentrates on our top clubs while also providing stunning course photographs. You'll find the 150 top Irish courses on these 160 pages, as well as general tourism information and recommendations for golfers planning to visit this
beautiful golfing island.
I am one of those Destination Golf guys, by the way, and the editor for this magazine. Naturally, I'm going to say it's a fantastic publication and it will certainly stir things up as we have taken a somewhat different approach to the reviews and rating of courses... which falls into three categories: Platinum, Gold and Silver. There are 36 top-rated Platinum courses.
The magazine comes in printed and online forms. The online version is right here (click on the magazine image) and the hard copy will be distributed to clubs from tomorrow. Oh, and it's free.
Destination Golf Ireland will reach an international audience as its readership is global, and Destination Golf proudly claims to be one of the world's leading golf travel publishing companies, producing a bi-monthly online magazine as well as printed magazines for Spain, Portugal and Turkey.
So, you probably want to know want it looks like, right? Here are a few pages to whet the appetite. Look out for it in your home club and see if your course is included... but remember, if 150 courses are, then 250 are not! Or check it out online by clicking on the link above.
Enjoy the magazine and if you have any feedback on Destination Golf Ireland, the Comment box is just below.
Well done on the mag! I liked the rating system. Personally I'd rate Doonbeg as a platinum course, but then again I've heard the course has suffered from the storms last year & this year ... did that have a bearing on the rating?
ReplyDeleteYep, exactly... and I say as much in the copy. The recent changes (new holes) on the Annesley course at Royal County Down see it given a Gold status, while the Royal Portrush Valley course gets silver because of the ongoing changes that will be taking place this year. And then there's Adare which is not included at all because it is now closed for over a year.
DeleteDelighted to hear you like the mag. It's a good one.
