Christmas Golf... Time to Get Planning

Weather be damned... golf is golf... so consider some of the competitions and offers which will be in play over the Christmas and New Year period. There are plenty of them... here are 22 clubs to get you started.

If you want to find out what's on near you, take a look at the Open Fixtures tab on
www.golfnet.ie. From Singles to Team Events you're spoiled for choice. Esker Hills, Portumna, Nenagh, New Ross, Bunclody, Tramore, Strandhill, Galgorm Castle... it's a long list. Courses such as Moate and Portarlington are hosting multiple 12-hole Open comps over the period, which means a speedy round of golf. Portmarnock Links has an 18-hole Open competition (which counts for h'cap purposes) on New Year's Day. Expect that one to be popular... although I suspect early tee times will be available!
